Like Jesse and I have both previously stated, we love watching live performances of bands on youtube. It's quite fantastic. So I was doing this last night and I came across an awesome one. This is one of Jesse's favorite's so I hope I am not encroaching on her territory but i really wanted to share it because it's freaking awesome. This song is called "The Con" by Tegan and Sara, two completely rad twin sisters who are still in their early twenties and put out their first album at fifteen. I quite enjoy their music, and this is my favorite song of theirs. It usually rocks pretty dang hard but this is an acoustic version and it is impressive. And don't get me started on how awesome their hair is. This two chicks rock and or roll. Enjoy this. Now.
and if you like this than here is a link to them rocking the crap out of this live.

Zelda Map
So, this is the smaller version, if you can believe it. It's "finished," meaning that there is always more to discover by burning the plants and blowing up the rocks. I'll be adding to it as I discover more stuff. Hopefully you can see it... But, here it is:

Laying a Myth to Rest, Part 2
Okay, I've calmed down. Maybe it's silly that I was so affected by the whole Buffy thing, but I don't care. What I was saying about "Mario Bro. 2 The Lost Levels" is that there are some differences. Luigi can jump REALLY high, so much so that he is extremely hard to control. You kinda have to get a feel for it. There are poisonous mushrooms, too, that look like regular mushrooms except they're a different shade. And, The Lost Levels are SO SO hard. We cannot get past world 2...and we warped to world 2. We couldn't even complete world 1.
Remember that myth that if you jumped high enough at the end of the levels, you could go over the flag pole into secret worlds? It never happened. We always tried so hard, and it never happened. So, yesterday, as Justin was playing this game, it hit me. What if "Mario Bro. 2 The Lost Levels" was where that rumor originated? What if you can jump over the flag pole into secret worlds? Well, I'm here to tell you, I think I'm right. Justin went over a flag pole. Nothing happened really, but I think it's just jumping over the right flag pole at the end of the right level. Guaranteed we'll let you all know if it happens...cuz we'll be bragging about it like mad.

Laying a Myth to Rest
Justin and I were cruisin through our Wii Store, the place where you can download all the old nintendo games, when we came upon something called "Mario Bro. 2 The Lost Levels." Well, obviously, we were very intrigued. Come to find out, it was a Mario Bro. that was originally only released in Japan. We decided to try it out. There are few differences between it and
You know what? I can't do this. I'm sorry. I was just trying to get my mind off it, but I can't. I just finished watching Buffy. The very last episode. Forget whatever I said about it before. I hate it. I don't recommend it. You'll just be disappointed.

I am newly obsessed with Joss Whedon
Because he's a genius. As I've mentioned before, he wrote the series "Firefly" and then the movie "Serenity," which I love. And, I've been busily watching his other series, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." After that, I will watch "Angel" and then probably his new series, "Dollhouse" (even though Eliza Duschku is a horrible actress, in my opinion). He also has 2 movies in the works, one will be done next year and the other in 2011. I've very excited. But, the reason for this post is a particular episode in "Buffy." Now, since I've been watching "Buffy," I've been pleasantly surprised by how well it is written. I was expecting to enjoy it, yes, but I didn't really expect it to be full of witty dialogue and interesting and original storylines. Episode 7 of Season 6 takes the cake. The episode is called "Once More With Feeling." A demon is summoned to Sunnydale where he puts a spell on the town. It makes everyone sing and dance their lives as if they are in a musical. It also forces them to reveal, through song, the secrets they've all been keeping. Joss Whedon wrote and composed all the music in this episode. It is witty, hilarious, and I just love it. It has become something of a cult classic, that one episode in itself. There are lots of weirdos that are obsessed with it. (I'm kinda obsessed, but I'm not a weirdo. Promise.) In response to the overwhelming response, Joss Whedon and his fellow writers wrote "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" and "Commentary! The Musical." They are fantastic. "Commentary! The Musical" is a musical version of the creators' commentary for "Once More With Feeling" and it is hilarious. If anyone's interesting, they have "Commentary! The Musical" on youtube. A lot of people don't understand why I watch all these T.V. shows so faithfully. Bottom line, I enjoy it. It makes me happy. I know "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I would recommend giving it a shot. You may be pleasantly surprised.

God Bless the USA....I know I wouldn't
These days I find myself feeling very un-American. It seems that American's are lazy, selfish, superficial, violence-loving people. Is there any good left in this country? I am almost positive that if I lived in another country, I would hate Americans too. This massacre in New York this morning just pushes me over the edge. What the hell is wrong with the people in this country? Yes, I am not so naive to believe that it only happens here, but it happens here a lot more often than it happens in a lot of other places. And yes I realize there are much worse places to live so I shouldn't complain, but I can also think of better places to live that are much more peaceful and have significantly lower crime rates, especially for violent crimes. Last sunday a guy came into Hollywood video and he went over into GameCrazy. He asked if they had guitar hero Metallica. Austin told him he did and proceeded to sell him one. As he was doing this the guy said that he was just at wal-mart and asked them if they had it and the electronics guy was saying that it didn't come out until April 15th. So this guy said he had to walk away because he was about to punch him in the face. How freaking ridiculous is that?! That story perfectly sums up the average American to me. Really?! You are going to punch a guy in the face because of a video game?! And it's just because he was misinformed! Give me a freaking break! This seems to be what this country has come to. We value human life so minimally that we are willing to just go and punch somebody for absolutely nothing, or walk into an old folks home and kill completely random strangers because we don't want to live anymore. Well, to that guy and to the guy this morning, who the hell do you think you are? Who are you to decide if people get to live or die? What have any of these people ever done to you? Absolutely nothing. But you are such a coward and piece of trash that you have to go gunning down strangers and then kill yourself. Thankfully the guy at the old folks home last week was taken down by the on duty police officer and will be serving his time in prison. I am so tired of people who think they can just do whatever they want. Also last sunday we had a boy get arrested in GameCrazy because he was just at Game Stop and he stole a 5 year old's nintendo ds. This piece of garbage was 18 and he stole from a freaking five year old! And then he came to game crazy and tried to trade it in. My opinion of this country has become pretty low, and even lower for the citizens of this country. I feel almost ashamed to be an american and be on any sort of similar ground with these people. True I make mistakes, but I don't go around playing God either.

Killing Father Time with You Tube
Today I was just spending some time watching youtube videos. I am still getting over the flu so I haven't been very active. I love to go on youtube and watch live performances, because there is almost nothing better than live music. So I just thought that I would share this video with you all because the first two minutes of Bohemian Rhapsody are two of the greatest minutes in rock and roll history. I honestly wish the first two and a half minutes were a completely seperate song from the rest of it. I enjoy the rest of it but the last half has made it a novelty song, and the first half is so painfully beautiful. Shame. I cannot believe the power of Freddie Mercury's voice live. His voice sounds spot on. You can watch the rest of the video as well but I don't care for the rest of it. My intention here is just to share the first two and a half minutes. According to Wikipedia, Queen's performance at Live Aid was voted as the greatest live rock and roll performance of all time....I can see why. Enjoy it!
