Justin's new dilemma

So i have a dilemma that i need some help to resolve....well not even that because i want to do what's in the best interest of us and i know what that is i just want to know if it is a crappy thing to do. So here it is. I work at hollywood video. Inside some hollywood video's there are 'game crazy' stores. They are owned by hollywood video but employ different people and work off of a separate corporate thing. Anyway, not really important. We have a game crazy in our store and all of the guys that work there really like me. They think i am the bee's knees. I am not to fond of any of the people that i work with, and they don't appreciate me at all. I do all the freaking work in the entire store and never get any credit and get paid squat in the process. But i do really enjoy working with movies and i know everything. I really do. So Austin is the store manager of the game crazy and he wants to offer me a job, because he sees me doing all the work and getting all the pooped on. He could pay me fifty more cents per hour and give me the same amount of hours. Plus they get commission. Oh and they also get free rentals from hollywood just like i do. So it seems like a pretty easy choice, but the problem is i know everything about movies and don't know bomb diggity about games. So i would be a little out of my element. Plus i feel like if i went over there i would be doing a slimy thing? Is this true? I would really like some honest feedback about what i should do, and if going over there would be slimy of me. Jesse and i have already talked about it if that's what you are thinking i should do. I just want to see some other opinions. Let me have it...please....ok..bye.....amen.

This is the first blog post I've ever seen closed with the word 'amen'. Move forward two spaces.

I think you should snag the opportunity and see it as a learning experience, a chance to become an expert at something else altogether. Go for it. If you're not going forward, you're going backward. Carpe diem.

My first reaction upon reading your blog was how awesome it was that you closed with "amen." You're doing something right.

My take on the situation is this: business is business. You don't need to feel any loyalty to a job that doesn't treat you well. If you can get paid more and have a better work environment somewhere else, that seems like a pretty good move.

The only thing that would cause me to hesitate would be if you had to be near the people you used to work with and things would be awkward between all of you. But since you're not too close to them, maybe they won't really care. Either way, you've got the Game Crazy guys to back you up. And you'll learn plenty about games soon enough.

Seems like a good step forward, not backward, upward, not forward, and twirling, ever twirling toward freedom.

Besides, you know you're a sweet guy. Who can stay mad at you?

....everything I was going to say has been said. The only reason they would be mad would be because now they'd have to do actual work. I say take it.

I don't know if you have made this decision yet, but you should never look at a new job opportunity with hesitation because you have to learn something new. Every career move you make in the future will require you to learn something new.

This was not meant to sound preachy. So I will just say this. I would suggest you ALWAYS look out for YOUR best interest. In your situation, if I felt the move to the game section was in my best interest, despite the challanges I might face, I would definetly take it. Hollywood will always do what is in their best interest for themselves despite what that may do to you. So look out for yourself.

Heather brought up a good point just now. When I say 'your' I am assuming that you know I am talking about the two of you.
