I don't really know what to say! I'm a mama! It's crazy...I don't know if it's really hit me yet. In the past week, I've experienced soooo much, and felt every emotion possible. Jude is a week old already, and he is just the cutest, best little guy EVER. (I'm not biased.)
I was looking at everyone's Baby Betts guesses today and thought I would share the results. The person who guessed the most right is...AMELIA!!! She guessed that Jude would be 8 pounds, 4 ounces...and he was! She guessed that he would be 21 inches long...and he almost was! (20 3/4 inches). She guessed that he would be born on April 15th...and he was! She guessed that he would be a boy, and he obviously is! AND, she guessed that I would be in labor for 17 and a half hours. If you count labor and c-section time, she was only off by 2 hours! Amelia, I think you may be clairvoyant! It's eerie how well you guessed. Congrats.
Justin and I are super psyched about Jude, and we can't wait for everyone to meet him!

WHAT?!?!!?!
HOW ON EARTH DID FRANKIE EDGAR BEAT BJ PENN?!?!?!??!!?!? WHAT?!?!?!?! I had as good of a chance at winning the world series as he did of winning....oh crap, I better get to a ballpark!
Update
We had a doctor's appointment on Thursday and my blood pressure is totally normal, and there are no imminent signs of labor whatsoever so...it's a waiting game! Our doctor thinks baby is VERY big, however, so we have an ultrasound scheduled for Tuesday to check that. Wish us luck!

Big Scare
We had a doctor's appointment on Thursday, and unfortunately, my blood pressure was abnormally high. They took it twice while we were there and it was too high both times. Two days before, I had a really bad headache that wouldn't go away with Tylenol, and so that, combined with the high blood pressure, really worried my doctor. He sent us right over to the hospital for tests! He said if my blood pressure was still high as they monitored me for awhile then they would have to induce labor that night or the next morning!
They hooked me up to the fetal monitor, took blood and urine samples, took my blood pressure every ten minutes for 3 hours, and did an ultrasound. Thankfully, my blood pressure went down to normal and they didn't have to induce me. big sigh. The nurse did tell me, though, that I am having contractions even though I can't feel them. They are itty bitty and very sporatic, but I am! Crazy!!
The whole situation made us realize a couple things. One, that we could have the baby any day now, literally. Two, the hospital is a really really boring place. Three, we're not ready. I guess you could say that it was a good thing because now, we're working really hard at getting more ready. I almost have my hospital bags all ready now, and the baby's room is coming together, too. My parents brought us the crib this weekend and helped me with a lot of other little things that needed to be done.
This whole pregnancy thing has been a very new, interesting experience for us. We're excited and nervous about the next step. Wish us luck!

Comedy Jokes That Must Die
Is anyone else sick of hearing the same jokes in every sitcom and comedy? I know I am. Here are some of the worst ones:
He's standing right behind me, isn't he?
We've all seen this a million times. Someone is saying something bad about someone in front of a crowd of people when suddenly, the butt of the joke is standing right behind them, hearing every word.
Dog sniffs crotch and/or humps someone
This doesn't even need explanation. I am so sick of seeing this, and I have seen it as recently as two days ago, in the new movie "She's Out Of My League."
Fighting one minute, kissing the next
Two people, who supposedly hate each other, are screaming in each others' faces, when suddenly they can't help themselves but to passionately kiss each other.
Can we please come up with some original jokes, people??
